Use both in sequence. Boards & Beyond teaches the content, and First Aid serves as the high-yield review anchor you annotate with what you learn. First Aid is too condensed to learn from alone, so it works best alongside a teaching resource.
First Aid is a review outline, not a teaching text, so most students cannot learn new material efficiently from it alone. Pair it with a content resource such as Boards & Beyond or Pathoma, then use First Aid to consolidate and review.
Treat First Aid as an anchor: annotate its pages with pearls from Boards & Beyond, UWorld, and Pathoma, and return to the same pages repeatedly so it becomes a personalized master review document for the exam.
